Description
My 1982 Citroen 2CV Charleston edition Deux Chevaux was purchased in Germany 10 years ago.
It looks, runs and drives great!
The 2CV (French: "deux chevaux") was an economy car produced by the French automaker Citroen from 1948-1990. It was technologically advanced and innovative, but with extremely utilitarian and deceptively simple Bauhaus inspired bodywork. It is considered one of Citroen's most iconic cars. It was designed for low cost, simplicity of use, versatility, reliability, and off-road driving. A light, easily serviceable engine, extremely soft long travel suspension, high ground clearance, and for oversized loads a car-wide canvas sunroof.
Front wheel drive, four doors, 602 cc. aircooled boxer engine making a whopping 29 horses with a 4 speed "in the dash" shifter bringing this classic to a top speed of 72 MPH! This car was fully restored, including new frame, in Germany and then imported to Denver. I am the first owner in the US and have all importation records. It has about 60,000 km, with absolutely no issues.
The car is in excellent condition and it is stored in a Denver garage. On a side note - it does draw a lot of attention! People will wave, take pictures, ask questions and always smile. It is definitely the most fun car I have ever owned.
