Like many other people, I bought my Porsche in the middle of a existential mid-life crisis LOL! My good friend in LA had recently purchased an old VW Vanagon, and that planted the seed for wanting a weekend cruiser. I woke up one morning, looked online and saw this beautiful Porsche 924 with an auction ending in the next 50 minutes. The color captivated me and it was such an affordable price into the Porsche world. While driving to the dentist on the phone with my friend, I was in a bidding war for the car and won. A few days later, we flew up to Oakland, grabbed the car and road tripped down beautiful PCH. I did not know how to drive stick so it was a learning experience to say the least. Shout out to my other friend with a manual mini cooper that gave me a test drive the day before we flew up. She's a lot of fun, dependable, and a head turner. You don't need a $100K car to have fun.
