I owned my first Mach 1 when I was in Highschool. I was out with my Dad in the car when I spotted a black 1970 Mustang Mach 1 with a For Sale sign in the window. I immediately fell in love with the car and made my Dad follow the car until it got back to its home. We spoke to owner about the car and looked it over. My Dad was not convinced that I should have the car. I told him I had the money to buy it as well as the money for the insurance.
We talked about it for a few days and he agreed that we could go back with a mechanic to look the car over to make sure there were no major issues. That weekend we went back. I brought my money and the mechanic. The car checked out. We negotiated a price and I took the Mach 1 home. That's when I fell in love with black Mach 1's.
