A Century-Old Time Capsule, Restored to Perfection
Some cars are restored.
This one was reborn.
Originally owned by one of the pioneering engineers of the Golden Gate Bridge and one of the first cars to cross the bridge in 1936, this 1917 Ford Model T began its life in San Francisco during a period of bold innovation and American promise. It carried its owner through the early days of California’s transformation—before the Bridge itself stood tall over the bay.
In 1936, as construction on the Golden Gate Bridge continued, the Model T was carefully stored away. And there it remained, untouched and silent, for nearly seven decades—a perfectly preserved time capsule.
After being discovered by its second and current family, the car embarked upon a 15-year frame-off restoration. Every component was meticulously rebuilt, repainted, and refreshed to return the car to its original 1917 appearance. Modern touches were added subtly and respectfully—a starter for convenience and a discreet electronic ignition for reliability—without altering the soul of the machine.
Today, this Model T stands as a living piece of American history, combining museum-level authenticity with reliable functionality. It features:
• Original engine (professionally rebuilt)
• Original wood artillery wheels
• Brand-new period-correct tires
• New interior and convertible top
• Beautiful black paint
• Fully operational systems
• Exceptional drivability
This vehicle isn’t just a prop—it’s a storytelling tool, a time machine, and a centerpiece that elevates any production or event.
