Restored 1952 Chevrolet 3100 with 235 inline 6, 3 speed on the tree. Has Retro Stereo with Bluetooth hookup, Heat for winter time use. Seats two people comfortably, but was made for petite people. The cab area is small and 2 people fill it up.
These vehicles were work trucks and made for local travel only and not long distance. We have had it on the Western NC Blue Ridge Parkway and take it as far as Maggie Valley NC. Any other places farther than that we usually trailer it to other car shows. We drive it to local Cruise In’s in our local area to show her off.
The story for this unique truck:
It was owned by the Wrinkled Egg in Flat Rock NC. You automatically think BREAKFAST right? NO, The Wrinkled Egg is a CarePack store for kids that go to summer camp and they sell care packages to parents or who ever wants to get the kids something to take to camp to give them activities to do while they are away.
Well they needed money to help support the kids camp so they put the truck up for auction and donated to the kids camp so they could continue offering the kids a place to go for the summer. An Orthodontist from Laurel Park won the truck at the auction and he was going to street rod it and never found the time and also he did not know how to drive a 3 on the tree. I was looking around for a project to do at the time and noticed this truck sitting in the parking lot across from my dentist and my wife and I stepped over and took a closer look at it. She said to me, I can go find out who owns it while you are in the dentist. When I came out She said its for sale and if you want it make an offer. It runs and drives and all it needs is TLC. So we bought the Truck and kept it as original as possible and all the restore work was done by me and my Wife with the help of our boys. We took it all off the frame and fixed all the metal with exception of some dents because we did not want to undo everything about the history of the truck. We fixed and replaced panels and holes that need the most attention and primed and painted it and put it all back like you see in the pictures. We recently put "The Wrinkled Egg" Bed rail Signs back on and they are in the same condition as they were when we stripped it down.
We also have a 1962 Little Gem Camper that can also be put with it as a photo ops package. It cannot be towed at this time with the truck but we are looking in to that as well.
