1,489 –cc inline four-cylinder engine, four speed manual transmission, frame-on restoration completed in 2019 Accompanied by British Motor Industry Heritage Trust (BMIHT) Certificate.
This 1957 MGA 1500 Roadster was completed on May 6, 1957 and destined for North America. A factory left-hand example, it was shipped to the USA the next day. According to the BMITH Certificate, which accompanies the car, this 1500 roadster left the factory painted black and trimmed with a red trim interior and black convertible top.
The restoration brought it back to original British Motor certificate factory records: black exterior colour, red trim (interior) black top, and chrome wire wheels. We added the white walls because...well it completes this awesome look. The paint and interior are show quality.
The MGA was fitted with wire wheels and an adjustable steering column, heater and windscreen washers, all of which the car retains today. The car is powered by a 1,489-cc incline four-cylinder engine, which is matted to a four-speed manual transmission.
The car was acquired in June 2018 by the collector. Under his ownership, the car benefitted from a frame-on restoration, which was completed in 2019 and is responsible for the stunning presentation.
The show quality interior is completed with Italian red leather seats, German carpeting, and matching red seat belts, and black sunbrella top by George Yurkin at Best Coast Tops and Upholstery and features, Jaeger instrumentation, a heater, and MG branded pile floor mats. The concours quality body restoration and paint was provided by Anthony’s of Los Angeles. Side windows and a black tonneau cover also accompany the car. The 1500 MGA rides on 4” white wall radial tires from Goodrich, mounted on 60” chrome knock-off wire wheels. A spare and jack accompany the car. Bringing the car to a safe stop are four-wheel-drum brakes.
One of the more desirable British offerings of the 1950’s, this ’57 MGA 1500 Roadster is an iconic sports car and an excellent candidate for local parades, shows, opening events, movies or touring the countryside in style.
