I have owned Elky, my 1966 El Camino since September 9, 2011. Previously titled in Sulfur, Oklahoma, the paperwork I received reflected a history of numerous previous owners all in the state of Oklahoma. I assume she was originally purchased in, and spent her entire existence in Oklahoma—that is until I brought her to Dallas.
I power washed her underside in my driveway and I swear I brought a ton of Red River dirt down from Oklahoma with me — all from within her frame rails and rocket panels.
I eventually removed the original factory instrument cluster and replaced it with custom round mechanical gauges, which the seller had already purchased and decided to throw in at the last minute. So, the mileage is not correct.
Exact origin and details of engine are unknown; appears to be a stock rebuilt of an authentic 1965 SBC. Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold and Edelbrock (AFB) carburetor.
