1966 Mercury Comet-Capri 2 door hardtop "street freak" , featuring a 289ci mildly built engine and manual 3 speed floor shifted transmission. The same model that "Dyno Don" tore up the dragstrips with in the latter part of the 1960s, but this example has been done up in the style that was ubiquitous in 1970s hot rod culture. Known colloquially as "street freaks" these over the top machines roamed the boulevards and dragstrips from Burbank to Long Island and all points in between. With staggered Cragar S/S wheels and a "raked" stance that was the hallmark of the aesthetic of that period. Virtually all of the aftermarket parts found on this classic muscle car are period correct as well, down to the original Lakewood "Traction Action" bars authentic performance parts stickers and vintage long tube headers. You will not find a hot rod around town that captures the muscle car culture of the 1970s better than this tough as nails, loud and fast Mercury. (The car has been featured in several films and music videos.)
