Vehicle story

Bought the car in 1996 with 2,000 original miles on it. Drove it throughout high School and after joining the Navy. Developed an oil leak while in the Navy, parked it, and the car sat for 18 years. Restored it about 6 years ago, full engine rebuild from a 1600 CC to a 2007 CC, with new transaxle. Kept all the original parts that I could, and replaced anything that needed to be replaced. Repainted in Ford avalanche Gray, removed the side trim and welded the holes. Installed front adjustable beam, and adjustable rear spring plates. Tried to keep original VW look with a more aggressive stance. Wheels are original VW style welded into a 6-in wide barrel. This is a fun car to drive, and an amazing car to look at.
