Lexus’ attempt at the German automaker’s sports sedan chokehold, with the best aspects of a true Japanese car. It is certainly not a German car, taking a different approach entirely. Powerful, comfortable, solid; an interior quiet and serene no matter the speed. The technology in the vehicle was for the time unmatched, newer vehicles are still just now gaining some of what was offered. Variable steering, dual port/direct injection, VVT-I, and many others have allowed this car to age very well.
This specific car, if you should rent it, was basically fully optioned and special ordered in 2007. There is Navigation (which works quite well even now,) Mark Levinson Surround Sound, Backup camera with front/rear parking sensors, Transmission modes (Snow, Power, Normal) Heated/ventilated seats with entirely reupholstered leather, and an (Lexus installed, aftermarket) iPhone audio cable.
While admittedly not the flashiest car out there, then or now, there is an uncanny feeling of overall quality and passion that makes the GS feel like no other Lexus
Toyota 2GR FSE V6; Direct & Port Injection.
Despite the miles, one can instantly see why this is a legendary, award winning motor. Smooth, powerful, and well built; an engine that is still used in new cars to this day. Always lovingly maintained to run like new, years later.
