This packard 120B Victoria LeBaron was custom built in 1936 for George Washington Hill, President of the American tobacco Company, he commissioned coach builder LeBaron to build him an all aluminum body with a full rear seat and a 3 position convertible top, in which the drivers top is removable leaving rest of convertible top on, he built the convertible for himself and a coupe hardtop for his wife, only packard 120B with an all aluminum body on a junior chassis, making this car a 1 of 1, there’s no other packard in the world like this car
Following George Washington passing in 1946 car was purchased by Mr Armstrong from an Oldsmobile dealer in the 50’s, Mr Armstrong owned the car for over 40 years until 1993 when he sold it at Hershey’s
The car was purchased by Edward Herrmann, award winning actor, history channel narrator and MC at Pebble Beach concours de elegance for many years, Mr Herrmann had a frame off restoration performed by RM auto restoration (top restoration shop in America)
The restoration was the subject of a History Channel documentary narrated by Mr Herrmann in which the history of coach building and the detailed restoration of this packard are documented
Since then the car has well maintained, in recent years the car has been among the famous car collections of Ray Scheer and Don Crevier, this car has been shown at various concours de elegance car shows, including Pebble Beach in 1997, Amelia Island, and has won numerous best of show and 1st place awards, including 1st place in the primary division at the 2019 Classic Car Club of America National competition at Westlake Village badge 3350, won 1st place at the Packards internacional meeting in Newport Beach in 2023
The car is scheduled to drive the grand marshal in the city of Anaheim Halloween parade 10/28/23
The car was in the Rose Parade in Pasadena 1/1/2024 I drove the 2 Rose Bowl hall of fame inductees
