1937 Ford Flatbed Pick-up Truck

The Ford line of light commercial vehicles experienced some milestones in 1937, which proved to be the final year for the heart-shaped grille and radiator shell before a more ovoid theme was adopted, and the last year Ford trucks used a side-opening hood. This 1937 Ford Model 77 is an example of a half-ton truck that was built into low stake-body truck. The distinctive rear fenders tell the story of a simpler time. This is an original midwest truck that is said to have spent its early years working the farms around the Ohio Valley. The truck was purchased and restored by a local hardware company, with the significance of sharing the same established year. This Ford is fitted with a, hold your breath, Chevrolet 350 engine with a 400 Trans, and a Ford rearend. The saying "Built Ford Tough with Chevy Guts" really applies to this old sweetie. The truck was purchased by my father who was a lifelong '37 Ford nut. He had multiple 1937 Fords his entire life, and had recently sold 2 project 37 Ford Delivery Sedans to buy this flatbed for the town parades. Sadly, he passed away 3 weeks later, having only driven it once.
