Long, Low, Wide, and high powered.
The Galaxie was the top-of-the-line Ford from 1958-1974.
The 1960 Galaxie was thoroughly restyled from the 1959, looking less like a 50's aircraft inspired car and more like a 1960's space age car. There was a focus on improving aerodynamics that led to a sloping hood and handsome new grille that incorporated quad headlamps. Elliptical taillamps replaced Ford's signature round lenses, and the old wraparound windshield was swapped for one that offered 30 percent more visibility. Although they shared the same basic design and layout as their predecessors, the new Fords were longer, lower, wider and roughly 300 pounds heavier.
