This 1961 Volkswagen Type 2 was acquired by Overland Imports(www.overlandimports.com) in Brazil and subsequently imported to the United States in January of 2024. This is an 11- Window Kombi which underwent refurbishment completed in 2023 that also included rebuilding the 1200 flat-four and the four-speed manual transaxle as well as overhauling the suspension, steering, braking, and electrical systems. The body is finished in two-tone Palm Green and Sand Green 15” steel wheels, chrome large logo VW hubcaps, Bullet style turn signals, dual side mirrors, safari-style front windows, side pop out Windows, as well as three rows of bench seating, an overhead ventilation console, and seat belts for nine seating positions. This Type 2 11-Window Kombi is a very sought after early model VW Bus in the most beautiful color combination.

The refurbishment included repainting the body in Two-Tone Palm Green & Sand Green. Other features include a 3 hoop roof chrome rack and ladder finished with Brazilian hardwood slats, two-tone body-color bumpers and wheels, safari-style flip-up front windows, pop-out side windows, and Wolfsburg crest horn button.

Palm Green and Sand Green painted steel wheels wear chrome large logo VW hubcaps. Suspension, steering, and braking systems were overhauled as part of the refurbishment.

The nine-passenger cabin is re-trimmed during the refurbishment and features three rows of bench seating upholstered in beautiful and very elegant green two tone velour and vinyl interior, which extends to the side panels and door panels in a two tone green velour to match the seats as well as a green vinyl. The middle bench can be folded for ease of entry for the 3rd row. Other features include gray loop carpet, a Wolfsburg horn button, chrome ashtray, chrome grab handle, chrome rearview mirror, an overhead ventilation console, a second-row padded bulkhead, and seat belts for nine seating positions.

The black brand new flat four two-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-km/h speedometer and is adorned by a gold Wolfsburg crest logo horn button, and the dashboard also houses a fuel-level gauge.

The 1192cc (1200) air-cooled flat-four features black engine tins as it left the Volkswagen factory and was rebuilt as part of the refurbishment, the generator and distributor have been rebuilt to factory spec. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle that was rebuilt as part of the refurbishment.
