This is my 1975 Triumph TR6 roadster, formerly owned by famed Hollywood promoter Roland Wirt who bought it new in 1975.
Restored and modified in the past 5 years, this car not only is a showstopper, but a great car to drive.
So, what’s a TR6 like to drive? Rather lovely, that’s what. Powerful with a beguiling engine note, the TR6 was never short of performance and it’s hard not to play tunes on the overdrive. That “six” sounding like a jetliner at bay breathing through the custom tuned dual Ansa exhaust.
Smooth and potent, a nice blend of old he-man feel and up-to-date behaviour.
The TR6 was launched in 1969, the year George Lazenby got an outing as James Bond in a kilt and a cardie.
This modified TR6 is of a powerful, well-balanced, and generally safe car with direct steering, and soft rear suspension to keep traction, but which also requires you to “flow” between bends to avoid upsetting the handling. With plenty of room, and a really good heater, this seemed like a brilliant grand touring car which could also be used for sprints and hillclimbs if the owner were so moved.
Custom 16” wheels wrapped around in Goodyear Eagle tires, completely redone suspension with performance lowering springs.
Most notable upgrade is the 5 speed transmission borrows from a Toyota Supra, very smooth and forgiving a real breeze to drive.
Custom paint, paint sample teal blue with free hand pin striping, striking bright work and a completely redone interior with real leather trimmed seats and striking wood work on the dash.
Perfect for weekend getaways, photo shoots or movie sets. Can be rented by the day in self drive mode or choose “chauffeuring” and have it delivered to the set or event(charged hourly).
2.5 liter rebuilt engine, dual SU Stromberg carburetors. Runs like a clock
Custom 16” König wheels with Goodyear Eagle tires
Factory disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear
Custom fitted 5 speed Toyota manual transmission
