This Electric Porsche 914 has been converted to pure lithium battery power after being soda-blasted to metal, epoxy primed, painted, and lovingly restored with all new interior, new rubber seals and body fixtures inside and out.
After restoration, it was fitted with a 650 amp high performance AC electric motor and controller, 22kW lithium battery pack, Orion BMS (battery management system), and Samsung Android tablet for EV gauge display. It runs the stock transaxle and clutch for 5-speed fun.
Numerous updates include power windows, HID headlights, electric washer pump, electric rear hood latch, 3rd brake light, pneumatic hood springs, blade-style fuse panel, and much more.
It has run like a champ for 3 years, and currently has 26,000 miles on the odometer (zeroed after the restore). It performs very much like the stock car, with snappy acceleration and impressive power in the midrange. Top speed is somewhere over 95 mph, and range is a solid 60 miles, or 70 miles if driven conservatively.
