This is a fine and capable example of America’s first SUV. It’s a two owner, 1978 Scout, originally ordered by an IH engineer and lovingly restored to factory condition after 35 years on the road. This family treasure is currently owned by the grandson of an engineer who built the scout factory. Built to drive and known for reliability, this Scout regularly conquers dunes and trails and has driven to both the East and West coast. It was recently awarded First Place at the International Scout and Light Truck Nationals. Slight safety modifications include a roll bar, seat belts and improved steering components.
