Rolls-Royce, the Best Car in the World
Only 2,135 examples of this particular model variant were crafted from 1975 to 1980 (Chevy makes more than that by lunch); and with this color combination... just one. Most were custom-made to order for the original owner, as was this one. All were made by hand, by a small group of professional craftsmen in England. Of all Rolls-Royces ever built since the company started just after the turn of the (last) century, about 65% are still roadworthy; a far, far greater ratio than most any other make. Still, it is a very rare experience to even see one, much less from the inside.
Every interior surface is the finest wood, wool, or leather available. Leather rejected by Rolls-Royce is snatched up by Versace and Gucci. Craftsmen apprentice for years to learn to make the woodwork in a Rolls-Royce. It's like sitting in a fine piece of furniture. Even after forty years, the ride is quiet and smooth.
The Silver Wraith II is four inches longer than standard models, and it's all in the rear seat leg room. Lambs' wool floor mats cosset your feet. Handcrafted burled walnut supports your elbow. The rest of you is cradled in leather from cattle raised in padded pastures, padded to eliminate blemishes in the hides. In 1978, no finer car existed anywhere. Some would say that is still true today.
Royalty, celebrities, captains of industry... and now you.
