The 2004 Lamborghini Gallardo marked a bold new chapter for the brand, introducing a more accessible, all-wheel-drive V10 supercar that combined everyday usability with unmistakable Lamborghini flair. Powered by a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V10 producing 493 horsepower, the Gallardo rocketed from 0 to 60 mph in just over 4 seconds, backed by a throaty, high-revving soundtrack. Its sharp-edged design, angular intakes, and compact proportions gave it a modern, aggressive presence while still honoring the brand’s wild heritage. Offered with a gated 6-speed manual or the optional E-Gear automated manual, the Gallardo delivered precise handling and confident grip thanks to its mid-engine layout and quattro-derived AWD system. As the first baby Lambo developed under Audi’s stewardship, the 2004 Gallardo fused Italian passion with German engineering—creating a modern classic that helped redefine what a Lamborghini could be.
5.0-liter (4961 cc) V10, mounted longitudinally behind the seats in a mid-engine layout. It’s an all-aluminum, DOHC 40-valve engine with electronic sequential multipoint fuel injection, producing 520 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 376 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm. It revs high, sounds absolutely savage doing it, and delivers power in a smooth, linear rush. The engine was developed with input from Audi but retains that raw, exotic Lamborghini character—sharp throttle response, a spine-tingling wail at full throttle, and just enough rough edge to remind you it's a raging bull, not a tamed horse.
19-inch cast aluminum alloys, featuring the signature five double-spoke “Cassiopeia” design that perfectly complements the car’s angular, aggressive styling. They measure 8.5 inches wide in the front and 11 inches wide in the rear, allowing for a staggered tire setup that enhances traction and handling. Wrapped in high-performance rubber, the wheels not only look sharp but play a key role in the Gallardo’s planted, confidence-inspiring feel. Their lightweight construction helps reduce unsprung mass, improving both ride quality and steering response—exactly what you'd expect from a car with supercar DNA.
Ventilated disc brakes all around, with eight-piston aluminum calipers up front and four-piston calipers in the rear. The rotors measure 14.4 inches in the front and 13.2 inches in the rear, providing serious stopping power to match the car’s performance. ABS is standard, along with electronic brakeforce distribution, which helps maintain stability during aggressive braking. Pedal feel is firm and immediate, with excellent modulation—perfect for spirited driving or track use. Optional carbon-ceramic brakes were available that year, but even the standard steel setup delivers fade-free performance and confidence under hard use.
