Here is the most extreme version of the Lamborghini Gallardo ever produced. Designed to bring the raw thrill of motor racing directly to the road, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale is based on the highly successful Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo – the world’s fastest single-make race series. This extraordinary car was only made in a strictly limited edition of 150 numbered examples. The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo championship brings professional racers and highly skilled amateurs face-to-face in hard fought battles on some of Europe’s most challenging racetracks. Monza, Hockenheim and Silverstone are three typical examples.
There are numerous similarities between the full-blooded racer and the road-going version of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale. Specifically, they both use exactly the same version of the V10 engine, which needs no modification for racing.
At a glance, many other similarities are clear. It has the same hugely effective rear spoiler for greatly increased dynamic stability during demanding high-speed manoeuvres. This feature can also be manually adjusted for different conditions, just like the track version. Another element the two cars share is the removable engine cover with quick release system. As you would expect, both spoiler and engine cover are made from carbon composite material.
In fact, together with lightweight aluminium, carbon fibre is the main ingredient in this ultimate version of Lamborghini’s bestselling model.
