The Quiet Before the Engine Starts
Some people just drive cars.
But for me, cars feel like freedom.
It’s the way the door sounds when it closes… that solid thunk that makes you feel safe. It’s the way the dashboard lights up at night like a cockpit, like you’re about to go somewhere important even if you’re just going to get coffee.
I love the quiet moment right before starting the engine. Foot on the brake. Finger on the button. That half second where everything is still. Then… push.
The engine comes alive.
It’s not just a sound. It’s a feeling. Like possibility.
Cars aren’t just transportation to me. They’re independence. They’re late night drives when you need to clear your head. They’re music turned up with the windows slightly down. They’re proof you can go somewhere new whenever you decide you’re ready.
Some people see miles on a car.
I see stories.
Every trip. Every passenger. Every destination. Every time you chose to keep going instead of staying stuck.
And maybe that’s why I love cars.
Because no matter what life looks like…
You can always put it in drive. ?
