I first fell in love with old Volkswagens while watching YouTubers convert them into camper vans and travel the states in them. That was back in 2017 when I was still in school and didn't have a lot of money to my name. The years went by, I worked hard and saved my money. In early March 2022 I bought my first VW Bus, a blue and cream 1972 tin top that I named Zephyr.
Zephyr used to live in a backyard and served as a playhouse for a growing family. In 2020, my friend Tony tagged it out of the mud on a tow truck and began restoring it, even giving it the current paint job.
I found Zephyr on the side of the road in Long Beach and instantly fell in love. He was done well enough for me to drive immediately yet still had bugs and quirks that I could repair along the way. We first went camping together in June 2022, his first camping trip since being parked in a backyard.
Now I take him camping at least once a month. We've been to Big Sur, Joshua Tree, Julian, Lake Havasu, Anza Borrego, Salton Sea, Ventura, and many other places. He's very important to me and I hope that listing him on this platform will connect me with other creatives, other Volkswagen enthusiasts, and outdoor enthusiasts. By booking Zephyr, you're helping me keep a time machine on the road and helping me share that with everybody else.
