Meet Hugo our fiat 500c Abarth…pocket size, Bright Yellow, Convertible, Manual Transmission… the perfect car for fun in the sun on the winding roads of Maui!

Our Fiat 500c Abarth has arrived!! So, our grey Fiat 500 Abarth was one of the first cars in our fleet here at Maui Mini Go! and it has easily been one of our most popular cars! About a year ago I decided to try and find the convertible version of the car with a bit more options. Our grey Abarth is pretty basic. Little did I know how challenging it would be! Finally, after lots of searching I’d like to introduce Hugo, our 2017 Fiat 500c Abarth.
Finished in Giallo yellow, with all the options, this car is the definition of fun! Even more special….wait for it!!!….manual transmission! Yup, our contribution to the Save the Manuals campaign, this little Abarth has 5-speeds of hand manipulated goodness! I’m not a huge fan of naming cars, but the previous owner had named him Hugo! With the amount of personality packed into this Abarth, looks like the name is sticking around!

Small in size but huge on fun. The Abarth pops on up shift and overuns after every heal-n-toe. Please ensure to have the sun roof in the targa position for the maximium aural experience. Weighted steering and excellent pedal box make driving a pleasure. Short wheelbase and narrow trackwidth makes navigating Maui a breeze. David, a fellow automotive enthusiast, provided excellent advise on how to operate the vehicle, as well as, the best locations to visit. Overall a fun and memorable experience. Highly recommend both the Abarth and David and look forward to using his services on our next visit to Maui.

Thanks David! I had a great time. I especially appreciate your flexibility with picking up/dropping off, and your over-all great communication. To anyone considering renting one of David's cars: Make sure you allow time at pick-up for a car orientation and paperwork. But you might want to allow some extra time. David had great advice for where and when to get the best drive experience. You might want a chance to look at other cars in his garage too--fun stuff! About the 2017 Fiat 500C Abarth: So much fun. This car is fast, quirky, and loud. If you have younger kids, they will want to ride with you. Accelerating through a tunnel with the top down is a crowd-pleaser. A 12 year-old fits fine in the back seat. An adult also fits great, assuming their legs are amputated first. The stereo has Bluetooth, and the AC blows cold. The trunk is plenty large enough for a 6" sandwich but you might think twice about getting a 12". To be serious, the trunk might fit a few "personal items" or grocery bags, but probably not a regular size cabin bag. To sum up: I rented this car for seven days and have no regrets. Caveat: It worked well for us because we also rented a minivan for people and gear-hauling.
