Thank you so much for letting us drive the Mini! It's in mint condition, everything is functioning well, really clean too - shows that it's been much cared for and loved by Dave! Pickup and drop off at Kahului airport is hassle-free, Dave is also very responsive to our questions, despite his busy schedule. We also appreciate Dave's assistance in getting our reservation approved and confirmed in time for the trip, even though the booking came in late and after the fact I'm an international driver. We'll definitely rent from Dave again if we're coming back to Maui, thanks for everything!

There's only 1 way to experience all of the great driving roads on Maui, and it's with a car from David. The JCW Mini was an absolute blast to drive around the island, and performed great. David is a true car enthusiast that wants people to have fun with his vehicles on the island, and gave us some great tips on places to go. Next time I'll be renting the Lotus!

David could not have been more accommodating throughout the rental process. He helped keep this a surprise from my boyfriend while running a background check initially. Then, once I was on Maui, he was super flexible with our pick up and drop off time. He gave us an outstanding rundown of the vehicle and suggested a perfect route for us to take the car on for the day. The car could not have been more perfect and David made this process smooth and stress free. I would highly recommend renting from David in the future. I know if I'm ever on Maui again I'll be hitting him up for one of his Mini Cooper rentals.

I cannot stress enough how much I recommend DriveShare. To begin with, both David and the guys at DriveShare went an extra mile(or two) to make my rental happen. I was struggling with my European card, so the guys kept working so I’d get the car. The car itself, fun to drive, easy to park - pure joy in Maui. And I have to add a few extra words about David. This guy! Amazing!!! He told me all DOs and DONTs for the road to Hana. I followed his directions the next day and it was one of the best days in Hawaii. David is the nicest guy ever, and when I’m back to Hawaii, sure thing, I’m renting his car again. Overall, these folks here are great.

Small in size but huge on fun. The Abarth pops on up shift and overuns after every heal-n-toe. Please ensure to have the sun roof in the targa position for the maximium aural experience. Weighted steering and excellent pedal box make driving a pleasure. Short wheelbase and narrow trackwidth makes navigating Maui a breeze. David, a fellow automotive enthusiast, provided excellent advise on how to operate the vehicle, as well as, the best locations to visit. Overall a fun and memorable experience. Highly recommend both the Abarth and David and look forward to using his services on our next visit to Maui.

Phenomenal car that is perfect for the island between the awesome color, the removable top, the surgeon's scalpel level of handling, and the connectedness you have between your inputs & the car's response. Everything is direct, between the shifter, the steering wheel, and the pedals. Which makes driving so rewarding because you become conscious of how everything you do, the car translates to the road due in part to the car tipping the scales at a mere ~1,900 pounds. There are so many great roads on Maui for which this car is at home on, with switchbacks, off-camber esses, and dips & crests. With the super sticky tires, I was carving corners at unbelievable speed and no doubt pushing past 1g regularly with minimal effort. What's interesting is that even though this is a road-going track car, the ride is shockingly complaint all things considered. Also, very important to note for my fellow car enthusiasts who are on the athletic & tall side that yes you WILL fit in this car. I'm just over 6'2" with fairly broad shoulders and I had zero issues even with the top on (not that you'll do much, if any, driving with it on). Make no mistake, this car requires a deft & capable driver because if you run out of skill you WILL find yourself in deep shit as the car has ZERO electronic safeties besides a limited traction control system. With the way with which the weight transfers, you can EASILY upset the balance in a corner by unloading a tire prematurely, improperly trail brake, or worse yet induce snap oversteer. But in all honesty you should not find yourself in that position, because it would mean you're driving beyond your abilities. If you are, you're disrespecting the car and worse yet you're disrespecting the owner. Speaking of, David is a helluva of a gearhead and very enjoyable to talk shop with. I spent a good chunk of time going over the car with him before leaving, and it made the experience all the better because of it. I feel like I made a friend on the island, and when I return to Maui in the future I know I'll come back to take the Elise for a spin again. Mahalo for making my first trip to the island such a kick-ass time!

Any fan of Porsche knows that the Cayman R is a rarity, even more so in this Peridot Metallic green exclusive to the R. After just one day with the car, I was beyond impressed with it. I feel like the 911 after the 997 has gotten too big & bloated of a coupe. This thing feels perfect in size, similar to my 996 Turbo. Obviously, this is a different experience as a mid-engine NA RWD car versus a rear-engine turbo AWD car. As for the chassis itself, it is remarkably neutral despite not being exactly 50/50 weight distribution. This is down about 400 lbs from a 996 Turbo, and I could feel the extra agility as a result. Going through the twisties was effortless, and the car rotated exactly how I wanted it to. It was very predictable how the tires got loaded up and the weight shifted around. Unlike a 911, I feel like you'd have to try REALLY hard to upset the chassis and lose control. And while obviously this does not have 4 wheel steer, at times it sure felt like it with the way the rear of the car tracked my inputs from the front. It does have "only" 330HP, but the power delivery has a surprising grunt to it once you get up in the rev band and the howl that comes out of the R's pipes is absolutely intoxicating. Finally, special mention for the seat. Sweet baby Jesus, this is hands-down the BEST seat I've ever sat in. To the point I regret doing so as I want one now for my 996 Turbo. It kept me locked down the whole time no matter what I was doing, and yet it was unbelievably comfortable. I didn't know a race bucket seat could be this good. I see now what the car journalists meant that the Cayman R is one of the best balanced Porsches ever made. It also fits the island with the gorgeous color and making mincemeat of the great driving roads while still maintaining enough compliance to the point of being a worthy daily-driver. If I lived on Maui, I would likely swap my 996 Turbo out with this. Fantastic car, highly recommend it for anyone to see what a modern Porsche SHOULD feel like.

Dave and the car were both absolutely incredible. He and his team and the vehicle made the experience that much greater; I’m not sure if we’ll go with anyone else when we come back to the island! Dave is an incredible human who works nonstop to make sure you are taken care of from start to finish. He is the personification of aloha and I think a lot of us could learn from his kindness. He will care for you and your experience from start to finish. Plus the dude has a great eye for incredible cars and his fleet will show you just that!

Absolute blast to drive!

Renting from David was a departure from the sterile impersonal experience at a corporate car rental company. It's clear this is David's passion. He is very laid back and easy going while being very meticulous about his vehicles. He will provide a lot of practical information about the car, driving quirks in Maui, and will also provide tips for places to go or things to do. He personally picked us up and dropped us off at the airport. We didn't have to navigate the rental car shuttle bus/train or jockey for position in line. Instead we called, David told us where to stand and he was there within minutes. We hopped in his pickup, met his sweet dog Sumo and away we went. The best part was renting a Mini Cooper. I used to own one and miss it. This was a treat that I will likely repeat when on Maui again.

Thanks David! I had a great time. I especially appreciate your flexibility with picking up/dropping off, and your over-all great communication. To anyone considering renting one of David's cars: Make sure you allow time at pick-up for a car orientation and paperwork. But you might want to allow some extra time. David had great advice for where and when to get the best drive experience. You might want a chance to look at other cars in his garage too--fun stuff! About the 2017 Fiat 500C Abarth: So much fun. This car is fast, quirky, and loud. If you have younger kids, they will want to ride with you. Accelerating through a tunnel with the top down is a crowd-pleaser. A 12 year-old fits fine in the back seat. An adult also fits great, assuming their legs are amputated first. The stereo has Bluetooth, and the AC blows cold. The trunk is plenty large enough for a 6" sandwich but you might think twice about getting a 12". To be serious, the trunk might fit a few "personal items" or grocery bags, but probably not a regular size cabin bag. To sum up: I rented this car for seven days and have no regrets. Caveat: It worked well for us because we also rented a minivan for people and gear-hauling.

The Lotus Elise has always been a dream drive for me and the chance to check one out on Maui couldn't be passed up! David is awesome and a true car guy that provides some very useful tips on how this lovely machine behaves and how to get the best out of it! You can tell he really cares about the experience and the cars and I respect that. He has a cool collection of interesting cars that tempted me but it had to be the Lotus. This car is comical to get in and out of with the top on, the air conditioning is a joke, it is very noisy, and you have to be careful for speed tables and driveways, but when you get all that mechanical feel and fantastic exhaust note from a car with real character, none of that matters. I can see why reviews of the series 2 Elise rave about it. This was truly one of my all time favorite cars I have driven, can't wait for another shot at it someday! (now I have to convince myself not to buy one...)

Dave was Awesome, super friendly , and an amazing car guy. I would highly recommend anyone looking to rent a sports car or a Mini to go through him. Will definitely be renting again from him next time I'm in Maui. Beautiful Porche.
