The car available for rental is an almost all original 1951 Oldsmobile 88. For some-one looking for a special ride, this is a part of American history. The interior is clean and can accommodate up to four passengers, three on the back seat and one in front. For classic car aficionados, it has the original Rocket 8 V-8 engine, as well as a Hydramatic transmission. Due to its age, please be aware that there is no mechanical air-conditioning, which can have an impact during summer daytime rentals.
The total charge will include time to and from your location. When making your initial reservation request, please indicate the expected time at your (pickup) location, with a minimum of one hour. Also, indicate other locations that will be included in the drive, e.g. dropoff location. I will review the expected total rental time and let you know if more than the minimum three hours will be required.
The car is available for chauffeured driving, e.g. weddings, prom night, anniversary evening out, etc., and photo shoots, e.g. engagement photos, movie shoots, event display, etc., but not for self-drive rentals.
Please note that DriveShare does also take a security deposit, of $250. This is to cover any non-insurance issues that might occur, such as extra cleaning of the car interior, etc. To date this deposit has been returned in a few days after all my rentals.
