My addiction began in the late '70s, when I parked cars in the high-end, swanky restaurants in Hollywood, WeHo and Beverly Hills. Think of the Brown Derby, Chasens, Perino's, La Masia. As a 17-year old, driving some pretty cool cars along with pretty cool owners (Charleston Heston, Steve McQueen), it left a very large imprint in me. I never forgot those grand cars. Throughout my life, I've tried to have unique cars, MG's during high school, Acura's when they just came out, the last Acura Legend, when I could afford it, the 2007 Audi S8, with the V10, etc. Then Covid hit and that's when the virus took over and I began the search for unique, vintage cars to own. I gravitated to Mercedes-Benz because of its history and stance. It just said exactly what it's slogan says, The Best or Nothing. Beginning with the very unique 500E, the iconic 560SL, the 220SE Cabriolet, '73 280SEL...each one had it's uniqueness. My favorite? Hard to pick one but if pushed, I would pick my '66 230S Heckflosse or Fintail, as it's know in the U.S. It's a rare manual with a 4-speed on the floor. I love driving it!! It is also the one that gets rented the most for weddings. But enough about me.
